Volcano country, on horseback

For travelers who want the landscape without the climb.

Not every good day in the highlands needs hiking boots. Around Antigua, farm tracks and ridge trails thread through coffee country and up toward volcano views — and a horse is the oldest, calmest way to travel them.

We arrange private rides with established local stables: gentle, well-kept horses, guides who ride with you, and routes matched to experience level — from first-timers at a walk to confident riders who want a longer morning in the hills. On Pacaya itself, trailside horses are a local institution and an honest option for anyone whose legs vote no halfway up.

Because routes and stable availability vary by season, we confirm the specific ride for your dates when we design your trip — we'd rather promise you a ride we've verified than a brochure we haven't. Tell us your riding experience in the trip planner and we'll match the route to it.

Riding pairs well with Pacaya for a two-speed volcano day, or as the gentler alternative for the non-hikers in a group tackling Acatenango.
